Last year I was checking my Facebook and saw I had a private message from Ronald, chairman of the MMRC (Miata MX-5 Roadster Club). He said that someone was looking for an original stock MX-5 NA (first model) for a photo shoot and he was thinking about my car.

It was a Photo Shoot for Touring Magazine, a local roadside assistance services. With the release of the brand new Mazda MX-5 ND, they would like to see both the NA and the ND side by side to compare all the differences. The photographer called me to schedule a meeting and asked to look for a nice spot in my neighborhood where we could shoot. I gave the car some extra TLC so it would shine like a diamond. Wax on, Wax off!

It was a warm and sunny day, excellent to take the car for a spin. I’m not going to spend much time telling you what all the differences are as you can find a lot of information on the net. The biggest changes: NA – everything analog, pop-up Headlights ND – Digital controls like ABS, EBD, EBA, HBC, AFLS, DSC, TCS, RCTA, BSM, HLA, LDWS

I had a lot of fun playing with the cars. As the photographer needed to take to photo’s, I was responsible for putting the cars in the right spot and in the right angle. A bit left, a bit forward, no, not good, turn around, no not you I mean the car…

About one month later I received a hard copy of the magazine. That was new to me. Never seen my car in a magazine. This will sound stupid but I had a smile from ear to ear, like a little boy who just got a new toy.

You can find a copy of the Photo Shoot for Touring Magazine in the link below!
